Prior to this blog, I tried to keep a journal on several different occasions. Their downfall, I think, was a lack of an audience. To this day, I don't know how Doogie Howser did it without just giving up.

Rubbing Elbows With Jazz Gods

Posted by Thomas J. Brown at 1508 hrs

Oh my god! On Wednesday the 20th and Friday the 22nd I went to the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, ID. I got floor seats and backstage passes =FOR FREE= from the radio station I work at. It was sweet. I met so many famous Jazz musicians that my head hasn't stopped spinning. It was great. I got to meet Jane Monheit, Roy Hargrove, Igor Butman, Pete Candoli, Freddy Cole, Man Sound (an acapella group from the Ukraine), Kuni Mikami, Bucky Pizzarelli, John Stowell, Bill Watrous, Wally "Gator" Watson, Evelyn White, and many, many more. It was a blast. I also got to visit with old friends and teachers and such before Friday's concert. Walking around the UI campus again was both odd and exciting. I haven't been there for over two years and there are many new things to see, but overall I can still find my way around pretty well.

I got a few pictures of various people (no one famous, though) and things which I'll put on ALLO. Which reminds me, I still need to update ALLO.
