Changing the masthead 2 weeks late was a lousy way to start, though.

Mele Kalikimaka

Posted by Thomas J. Brown at 0743 hrs

So much for a white Christmas. By the end of the day of my previous blog, all the snow had melted. It hasn't snowed (and stuck) since. It's =supposed= to snow today, and with temperatures below freezing, we're all expecting to see a blanket of white before the day is out.

As far as Christmas gifts go, I got some pretty good stuff this year. The big exciting thing is that I got 14 DVDs. That's right, =FOURTEEN=. I have the (new) Stanley Kubrick boxed set (9 films plus a bonus documentary about Kubrick), Baz Luhrman's Red Curtain Trilogy boxed set (3 films plus a bonus DVD), and David Mamet's State and Main. Among other gifts were a nice new suitcase (for our family's trip to England this summer), new jeans, a nice new towel, new boxers (finally!), a bunch of candy (as per usual), and a flying cow (yes, it's a cow and it has wings. And yes, the wings flap).

Mele Kalikimaka to you and yours!

Me ke aloha,
Thomas J. Brown
