Prior to this blog, I tried to keep a journal on several different occasions. Their downfall, I think, was a lack of an audience. To this day, I don't know how Doogie Howser did it without just giving up.

Friday Funday CCXVIII

Posted by Thomas J. Brown at 1145 hrs

Friday Funday brings you some fun and interesting links from my travels around the internet. Funday links will open in a new window.

Jesus is a Friend of Mine [del.icio.us]
For some reason, I really like this song.

Quincy Opening With Lyrics! [del.icio.us]
A hilarious version of the Quincy opening. Jack Klugman really was good in The Twilight Zone.

Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy [del.icio.us]
You love Family Guy, right? Well, Seth MacFarlane has teamed up with Burger King to create this site. The sketches are similar to what you're used to on Family Guy, but they aren't restricted by things like having to use consistent characters.

New Hovis Advert [del.icio.us]
Don't go look up what Hovis is, it's O.K. if you don't know (the ad will tell you what it is at the end). Instead, watch this and see if you can figure it out for yourself. This commercial is fantastic.

¡Viva Obama! [del.icio.us]
McCain is screwed if he doesn't target the influential mariachi vote. When I win the lottery, I'm hiring a mariachi band to follow me around everywhere I go. Via Appreciator.

I'll give you more details later, but for now, Morah and I are excited that this beautiful house will soon be ours!

Married to the Sea vs Dilbert

Posted by Thomas J. Brown at 0610 hrs

Another comic coincidence popped up this morning: both Married to the Sea and Dilbert deal with running out of coffee. Not quite as cool as FoxTrot and xkcd, but still an interesting coincidence.

Friday Funday CCXVII

Posted by Thomas J. Brown at 2207 hrs

Friday Funday brings you some fun and interesting links from my travels around the internet. Funday links will open in a new window.

Sarah Palin Baby Name Generator [del.icio.us]
According to this website, if I were born to Sarah Palin, my name would be: Puck Mule Palin.

Atari Modern Classics [del.icio.us]
If modern games were really Atari 2600 games, here's what their packaging might look like. These are pretty great.

EepyBird's Sticky Note Experiment [del.icio.us]
The creators of the Diet Coke and Mentos experiment are back. This time, they're wasting office supplies.

An Apology: To the Girl in the Parking Garage [del.icio.us]
From the best of craigslist comes this story of an accidental stalker. I know exactly how this guy felt in the situation, because the same thing has happened to me a couple of time (although, his situation was much worse).

Sesame Street - How Crayons Are Made [del.icio.us]
This was one of my favorite videos when I was a kid. Morah and I thought that this video was from Mister Rogers, but turns out that was a different video.

xkcd vs FoxTrot

Posted by Thomas J. Brown at 0621 hrs

Check out the middle graph in FoxTrot (which came out on Sunday) and compare it to the graph in xkcd (which, if I remember correctly, came out on Monday). Did anyone else notice this?

Friday Funday CCXVI

Posted by Thomas J. Brown at 2150 hrs

Friday Funday brings you some fun and interesting links from my travels around the internet. Funday links will open in a new window.

Play With Spider [del.icio.us]
Drag this creepy-cool spider around a map and feed it little bugs. Pointless, but neat.

Weener Kleener [del.icio.us]
Personal hygiene has never been as stimulating! Via Michelle.

Has the Large Hadron Collider destroyed the Earth yet? [del.icio.us]
There's even an RSS feed. A friend and I work had this exact same idea, but didn't act on it. D'oh! Via Brynna.

Anti Spore [del.icio.us]
Supposedly, this site is, "resisting EA's war on creationism," although if the author had ever actually played Spore, he would discover that all of the cool evolution we were promised isn't in the game. Which sucks even more than the game's DRM.

More Cowbell [del.icio.us]
Every song needs more cowbell, and this site will automate the process!

Friday Funday CCXV

Posted by Thomas J. Brown at 2108 hrs

Friday Funday brings you some fun and interesting links from my travels around the internet. Funday links will open in a new window.

Oktapodi [del.icio.us]
A clever animated short about love and octopi.

Surrealist Paintings [del.icio.us]
I found this gallery ages ago on Flickr and completely forgot about it until now. This is some cool, trippy stuff.

Chronotron [del.icio.us]
An addicting Flash game where you play a time traveling robot. This game will really make you think.

No Love for Bill [del.icio.us]
Bill Clinton tries to kiss Hillary, but things don't quite work out that way.

The Crazy Adventures of Wassup Holmes [del.icio.us]
This is sketch comedy gold. If you like it, check out News Rap.

And because I completely spaced posting this until Sunday, here's a bonus link:

Bobby McCatterson's Big Day Out [del.icio.us]
I can't even explain how totally awesome this is.
