Friday Funday CCI

Friday Funday brings you some fun and interesting links from my travels around the internet. Funday links will open in a new window.

Cell Phone In Microwave [del.icio.us]

This video is creepy and scary in all the right ways. It’s an incredible feat of CG that was well planned and executed.

6 Differences [del.icio.us]

Remember 5 Differences from Friday Funday CLXIX? Well, here’s the sequel.

Insects/Spiders [del.icio.us]

Here’s another link that’s creepy, but for a different reason. I love macro photography, and these shots are absolutely beautiful.

Robin Cooper [del.icio.us]

After those links, you probably need something that will make you laugh. Robin Cooper is a professional time waster. Of particular interest are the Time Waster Phone Calls — my favorite is The Swan and the Rat.

Gatos en Forma [del.icio.us]

Translated, the title means, “cats in shape.” If you weren’t laughing before, this should at least make you smile.

Red links are not safe for work.

Target: Women…Yogurt Edition [del.icio.us]

Have you ever noticed how many yogurt ads there are? Have you ever noticed how they all target women? This hilarious video pokes fun at all of that. Via LG.

Lilium Urbanus [del.icio.us]

A short-but-cool video that, if I tried to describe, would ruin it.

Each Grain of Sand a Tiny Work of Art [del.icio.us]

I always knew sand was made up of a lot of different things, but I have no idea it looked this awesome under a microscope. From now on, I’m going to start collecting sand for when Morah and I get a microscope.

Guys and Dolls [del.icio.us]

This 45 minute long documentary explores Real Dolls and the men who, uh, love them.

Evolver [del.icio.us]

The purpose of this game is to evolve your monkey into a human being. Could this game distort evolution any more?

Friday Funday CXCIX

‘Charlie Rose’ by Samuel Beckett [del.icio.us]

Charlie Rose interviews Charlie Rose. It doesn’t go well. Charlie Rose quickly gets irritated with Charlie Rose and the two go around in circles. In the end, not much is resolved other than we find out that Steve is not happy.

Ooh Girl! [del.icio.us]

An honest R&B song. Via The Book Bitches.

Refacing Government Tender [del.icio.us]

What happens when you have a bunch of U.S. dollars, artistic talent, and too much time on your hands? Well, take a look. Some of these are laugh-out-loud funny, and I was particularly pleased with the XKCD batch.

What in the World is a Tapir? [del.icio.us]

For Emily, who if I recall correctly, like tapirs. Four species of tapir inhabit the planet today. All of them are endangered.

Deep Lift [del.icio.us]

It’s a game where you’re underwater, then you walk, and jump, and… Um… It sounds much more boring than it really is. Or maybe it is really boring and I’m just easily amused. Play it and let me know what you think.

Can Keith Olbermann Be President?

Seriously. The man is amazing. Listening to him inspires me to be a better and more politically active American.

I Like Grammar

More than one person pointed out today’s Stuff White People Like to me.

It’s completely true.

Friday Funday CXCVIII

Friday Funday brings you some fun and interesting links from my travels around the internet. Funday links will open in a new window.

Stackopolis [del.icio.us]

It’s a little like Tetris meets SimCity. It took me a moment to figure out how the game is played (“instructions? We don’t need to stinking instructions!”), but once I did, it was pretty easy to get going.

TimeTube [del.icio.us]

This is a really neat idea. I love the internet.

CSS Homer, animated [del.icio.us]

Unless you’re a huge web-dork like me, you probably haven’t seen CSS Homer yet. When you do, you’ll probably wonder what all the fuss is about. Click the buttons underneath Homer to find out (and if you still don’t get it, e-mail me and I’ll explain it.).

Jim Gaffigan and Hot Pockets! [del.icio.us]

Kris sent me this hilarious video of Jim Gaffigan talking (quite truthfully) about Hot Pockets.

Offset The Evil [del.icio.us]

This promo site for Condemned 2 is absolutely hilarious. Pony Heart Quest is easily the best game ever made.

Mac & PC UK [del.icio.us]

Someone cut together all (or perhaps most?) of the U.K. “Get A Mac” ads. If you’ve never seen these, you should take a watch. The first one is my favorite.

Gabe’s Vlog [del.icio.us]

A total repost from BoingBoing, but it’s hilarious and made me laugh out loud.

Do websites need to look exactly the same in every browser? [del.icio.us]

The web designer’s eternal struggle, answered, once and for all.

Tinydrum3.0 [del.icio.us]

Not only are there 2 Tinydrums prior to this, but 2 have been made since!

Flight Patterns [del.icio.us]

FAA data was used to create this video, which, although a little long, is pretty neat.

And here’s a special bonus link that had me roaring with laughter!
