It has been almost a month since I wrote a real blog post (longer, depending on your definition of a “real post”), so I wanted to take a moment to write.
Closing on the house went smoothly, and we moved in last weekend. A lot of people have been asking us how living in the house has been — it’s great! We love having more than one room and the cat is starting to get comfortable with the new surroundings. The worst part is that we don’t know where anything is, and most of our stuff is still in boxes. Also, we don’t won’t have access to the Internet until Saturday, which is slowly killing me (it’s also part of the reason I haven’t posted anything until now).
I’ll be doing another video blog in the not-too-distant future to show you the house, and once things settle down a bit, I’ll be keeping track of Morah and my efforts to live greener lifestyles over at The Brown Green Project.
The previous owners of the house are fantastic. Not only did they take excellent care of the house, but they sent us a 2-page, handwritten document with tips and suggestions for taking care of the house and yard. It’s clear that they want us to take really good care of the house, and we’re disappointed that we never got to meet them (they were already living out-of-state when we started house-hunting).
Because they did such a great job taking care of the house, there really isn’t a whole lot of work that needs to be done. There are, of course, a few things that we’re customizing, but overall, we’re just going to leave things the way they are for the time being.
I wish I could say that posting will soon be more frequent, but we still have a ton of boxes to unpack and stuff to put away. Plus, there are a few updates around the house that we’d like to make, so all that will take up the majority of my time for a while.0 People like this. Be the first!
