It’s been over two months since I last wrote, so let’s get the excuses for why that happened out of the way now.
More than anything, work has been a major reason. I’ve been trying hard to get our content management system, Control Box, built to such a point that clients can use it. I designed in some pretty ambitious features, so there were a number of delays and setbacks while I overcame technical and lack-of-knowledge hurdles. But it has absolutely been worthwhile, and Control Box is ready for clients.
The other main reason I haven’t blogged is because Morah and I have been getting ready for the birth of our first child. Getting the nursery ready has been a big project, but it’s coming along and I hope to have pictures for you soon.
So the last baby update that you got was that it existed. Here are more exciting updates:
The sex: It’s a boy!
His name: Thomas Maluhia Brown. Maluhia is the Hawaiian word for “serenity” (we told some of you that it means “sanctuary,” but it turns out we had been misinformed. The Hawaiian word for sanctuary is pu’uhonua). His nickname is Tommy.
Baby colors: Green and brown. We don’t have a theme, per se, but a general Indian (as in the country of India, not Native Americans) look and feel.
Baby registries: Note that we’re still in the process of adding and refining our registries, so be sure to check back every once in a while to see if something strikes your fancy. We’re registered at Amazon.com, Think Geek, and Babies-R-Us. The Babies-R-Us website is dumb as a sack of hammers. In order to find our registry you’ll have to fill out the search form correctly, or else it will claim we don’t exist. Under the left-hand column labeled, “find a registry,” select “search by registrant” from the drop-down menu. Enter Morah Brown as the first and last name (note that it asks for the last name first). Be sure to use Morah’s name and not mine, as she is the official registrant (and there are about a million Browns registered).0 People like this. Be the first!
