Friday Funday brings you some fun and interesting links from my travels around the internet. Funday links will open in a new window.

Oops, I completely forgot to post this on Friday! Better late than never, though, right?

The Art of Retouching [del.icio.us]

This portfolio of photos retouched by Glenn Feron is fascinating! It’s incredible to see how normal the models really are, then how fake they become after retouching.

Web Two Point Oh! [del.icio.us]

Create a new Web 2.0 company by simply reloading the page! Some of these are really funny, and others are actually pretty good ideas!

The Web 2.0 Bullshit Generator [del.icio.us]

Now that you have a Web 2.0 company name and product, you’ll have to get out there and sell it. Use this handy page to spice up your pitches and fool people into thinking that you know what you’re talking about.

Top 20 Unusual Homicides [del.icio.us]

I’m not sure how long I’ve had this bookmarked, or even why I bookmarked it (today is the first day I’ve ever seen it). Some of these really are quite out there, but some seem more like manslaughter than homicide. The list is really rather random, so some of the later ones aren’t as good as the earlier ones (although the last one is pretty crazy).

Funny Cats [del.icio.us]

Because who doesn’t need more funny cats? Especially since the previous item was kind of a downer.

  1. The touch up site was amazing. False advertising.

And there’s always room for funny kitties!

  2. The BS generator is hilarious. Reminds me of Dilbert and how there are certain phrases management-types like to use for the same purpose (to make you think they know what they are talking about), phrases like “paradigm shift” and “think outside of the box”.

  3. Chelsea & Jessie

    Hello,

That wedding ring looks mighty fine on you.

    Alright,

    Love you,

    The Cousins

    XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXXoooX

  4. Keke

Mighty Fine? Yea, Chelsea wrote that for sure. But it does look really good on you. I should post some baby picture on my blog, I will soon.

  5. Chels

    Nope it was Jess.

  6. Phoenix

Retouching: Fascinating. Make me glad I’m a guy and don’t have to put up with crazy unrealistic ideas of beauty. Not that I couldn’t stand to lose 5 pounds… ^_^

Web 2.oh: Meh. They need a randomize button instead of forcing you to use refresh. And I don’t like their method either. And they’re mean! Wait, what?

    Best random page? http://www.conhugeco.org/en/

Bullshit generator: WAY too accurate. 😥

20 Homicides: That’s been around a while. Snopes

Funny cats: Who needs more cats? I do, I do!

  7. Not that I really care about the 20 homicides list (like I said, I don’t even know how it got bookmarked), but the Snopes article Phoenix linked to doesn’t actually disprove any of the stories, just that they weren’t published by the FBI (also note that the page I linked to doesn’t claim the FBI created the list).

Now, that’s not to say that any of them are real. In fact, they’re probably all a load of bollocks. I just wanted to point out the above in case people saw the link to Snopes and made an assumption (poor umption).
