On Tuesday night we were in Sandpoint and I =finally= got to go to Ivano’s, an Italian restaurant that my parents have been raving about. Everything was really good, but it took quite a while for our meal to get to us. In fact, we had been at the restaurant for about an hour by the time our food came. It was tough to decide what I wanted to eat, but one of the specials was buffalo, so I decided I’d try it. Our food came out and we all started eating and my meal had a really good cheese on top of the meat. I wanted to know what type of cheese it was, so I asked a waitress who went back into the kitchen to find out. A minute later the manager comes walking over to the table.

“I have good news and bad news,” he said. Of course, I instantly wondered what the bad news could be.

“The good news,” he continued, “is that that cheese is Gorgonzola.”

“Oh,” I replied, “I thought so.”

“The bad news,” he said, ominously, “is that that’s not buffalo. It’s rib-eye.”

“Oh,” I replied, crestfallen.

So they billed me for a rib-eye. It was good, but I’m sad that I didn’t get to try buffalo. Fred Meyer is selling it this week (I think), so I might buy some from there so that I can try it.
