“A Cornell student sought permission from university staff and administration about using his recently purchased Segway on campus. The Cornell Daily Sun reports in this article that “after a meeting with representatives from Cornell University Police Department, the Judicial Administrator’s office, Environmental Health and Safety and the Risk Management office,” Cornell informed the the student that any use of his Segway on campus would violate “state and municipal law.”

According to the article, 30 states have passed Segway “friendly” legislation. Unfortunately for the student, who shelled out more than $5,000 for his vehicle, New York isn’t one of them.”

My take on the story? The kid is a dumbass for buying a Segway at all.
