Friday Funday XXXVI

Friday Funday brings you some fun and interesting links from my travels around the internet during the previous week.

Deserted Buildings in Japan [del.icio.us]

A cool site that features old, rundown buildings in Japan. It’s all in Japanese, so I have no idea what any of these buildings are (some are obvious, others really have me wondering). Perhaps Phoenix can help us figure it out.

Wishingfish.com [del.icio.us]

Kitschy crap you don’t need, but totally want.

The Seven Gummie Sins [del.icio.us]

The seven deadly sins as interpreted by Gummie Bears.

What Kind of American English Do You Speak? [del.icio.us]

Normally I’m loathe to take crappy internet quizzes, but every once in a while, one comes along that makes me smile. Being the logophile I am, this was one quiz I couldn’t pass up.

Girl Held for Sex with Dog [del.icio.us]

Honestly. In another dog-related story, a five-year-old girl in India is married to a dog. Do you think her family killed the groom on their wedding night?

  1. Unfortunately, I spent my 10-day vacation hunched over in front of my computer re-learning to program, instead of learning Japanese. :’-(

  2. 10. What do you call an easy class?

    – A crip course

    – A gut

    – A blow off

How about “none of the above”? I haven’t heard of any of these terms.

Of course, it’s hard to take an English quiz seriously after they misspelled “mischief” in the second question.

Although, now I am curious what word people use instead of cruller…

  3. (1) I know. Sorry. -)

    (2) I know! Isn’t that great?

    (3) I know, I was thinking the same thing. And cruller? I don’t even know what that is. Without looking it up, the only thing that comes to mind is some kind of doughnut-esque thing. *looks it up* Hey, look at that. I remember hearing it years ago, but I don’t think I ever saw one at the time. *Google image searches it* Okay, never seen one before, ever.
